A speech I once gave: On Lewis, Tolkien and Chesterton

This is when I remember that Literature was absolutely the right major for me and that I do want to write, I really do, or edit, or translate, or just something with words-

When this speech written about writing and reading hits me like electricity and leaves me with my hands pressed against my chest lest it burst, and I have to sit and stare for several minutes before I can even articulate that much.

I am struggling for a lot of reasons right now. But this speech so vividly described the fire that has burned in my heart for words that it gave it back to me. And even if it fades again later today or later this week or month or year, I know that it can come back- or that it is still there. And that means more to me than I can say.

Thank you, Mr. Gaiman.
